It was cold and snowing on the mountain. A young boy was out hiking in the mountains, and he falls and injures his leg. He finds a cabin and the woman welcomes him. Together, they spend Christmas. She tells him the story of redemption and true Christmas.
A storm is raging in the forest and Mona Mouse is in search of a dry place to stay. Her home, an old tree stump, filled up with water and forced her to search for a new home. As she carefully crosses the creek, she slips and the creek sweeps her downstream. Mona manages to struggle out of the creek. Wearily, she wanders over to a large tree. This tree has a heart carved on it.
Peter and Mary are back at their Uncle’s house. They can’t deny the pull of the interesting artifacts in his library, and they get back into the Bible times. This time they are sent to the time of Noah and the Flood.

All I could think about this story was Wow! what an usual story! Reena and her family move to Maine after living in a big city. They adjust to living in the country, and Reena and her brother Luke find themselves helping their cranky, scary neighbor, Mrs. Falala.
