All I could think about this story was Wow! what an usual story! Reena and her family move to Maine after living in a big city. They adjust to living in the country, and Reena and her brother Luke find themselves helping their cranky, scary neighbor, Mrs. Falala. They learn all about cows, and Reena enjoys working with and caring for Mrs. Falala’s stubborn cow. As the story goes on it also touches in a deep way, two hard concepts, death and children with special disabilities. This story addresses both of those hard concepts with grace and kindness. Moo is an interesting book for children while gracefully addressing hard issues.
