Another well-researched and well-written book about an interesting historical event. Ms. Tarshis takes the exploding of the Hindenburg and makes it interesting for even the children who strongly dislike history! Hugo, and his sister, and their parents are riding from Frankfurt, Germany to Lakehurst, New Jersey. Hugo’s sister, Gertie contracted malaria while they lived in Africa. She needed immediate medical help, so they are flying home to New York on the zeppelin, The Hindenburg. However, the Hindenburg was flown by Germans during the Nazi regime. Read this book to find out how Hugo saves a spy and brings his family home safely.
