Jesse Stuart is known as a wonderful teacher and author. His children's books are exceptionally well written and clean. Therefore, I was excited to read his autobiography. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed. Some of my disappointment came from the sinful culture of backwoods Kentucky. The fighting, immorality, and twisted view of God and religion were disturbing. The language used in the book was horrendous. I got to the point that I knew I needed to stop filling my mind with such filth and stopped reading. I never finished the book and probably would not have read so far if it weren't for my prior good experiences with his other books. I really don't understand why this one needed to be so different.
