"Against All Odds" tells of the beginning of YWAM's work in Brazil. Jim and Pam experience much hardship and poor living conditions as they work to establish a brand new ministry. Despite the challenges, and despite the fact that they are repeatedly told that Brazilian people will not go out as missionaries, they persevere. Eventually, many mission outreaches are begun by their Brazilian converts. Unfortunately, Jim is divorced and remarried. While he does say that divorce is wrong, he seems to believe that remarriage is okay because the divorce wasn't his choice. I was very disappointed by this and as a result am not recommending this book.
