Wangari Maathai started the Green Belt Movement and she was the first woman from Africa to win a Noble Peace Prize. This book highlights her story and the hardships she overcame in order to help her fellow Kenyans. My students enjoy learning about the Green Belt Movement and were interested in learning more about Wangari Maathai. They really enjoyed the book!
