            Anna and her Jewish family have emigrated from Russia to New York City. Anna goes to school and learns English. But at home, she likes to wear her Russian dress and babushka. Alas, her dress is getting too small. Her mother makes her new clothes, but takes her old clothes and makes them into a quilt. This quilt follows her through every big event in her life from her proposal to her children. Eventually, the quilt follows her to her death then on to her daughter, her granddaughter and great-granddaughter. This book is a great reminder to cherish our heritage!
