Chicken Sunday

Picture Book

A neighborhood. We all have one, for better or for worse! In this neighborhood, it doesn’t matter if you are black or white, Jew or Gentile, Russian or Ukrainian. Each ethnicity can come together for a common purpose: to do a good deed. In this case, it was to buy Miss Eula a hat. She had been admiring a hat in the shop window for weeks. The children want to buy it for her for Easter. On their way to shop, they are mistaken for rabble-rousers. Can they prove they are innocent and buy Miss Eula her hat? This story reminds us that no matter what neighborhood we are part of; we can also be kind and help others.
