Extreme Adventures. Yes, that describes this book well. This book highlights several different extreme hikes that Gregg Treinish has accomplished. His first hike was three week summer camp that his Grandmother sent him because Greg had been having trouble at school. The group hike through Garibaldi Park near Vancouver, WA. He credits this summer camp for his love of trekking.

His next extreme adventure is skiing and trekking through the Gobi Desert in search of wolverines. Wolverines are becoming endangered. Greg and his team were hoping to track them and provide Scientists with more information about their habitat and habits.

The next two extreme adventures that Greg talks about are his trek through the entire length of the Appalachian Trail as well as his trek through the Andes Mountains. Be sure to read this book if you like extreme adventures sure to read this book to find out all the extreme adventures that he had while trekking.

I was pleasantly surprised that this book does not speak about any evolutionary theories. It did encourage conservation and being careful with our resources and how we use them. I didn’t especially like the way this book transitioned between chapters and between the different treks. I found that rather confusing.
