Babushka lives alone in far north of Russia. During the winter months, she is very lonely. She tries to keep busy by painting beautiful eggs to take the Festival. She spends much time on the eggs and many people rave over her beautiful designs. This winter, many animals flock to her home looking for food. She feed them. One day, a goose falls from the sky because a hunter has shot her. Babushka nurses her back to health and names her Rechenka. One day when Rechenka is feeling better, she accidently ruins Babushka’s beautiful eggs. Now, there is no reason for Babushka to go to the Festival. Can Rechenka help Babushka make more eggs?
