This story is a bit of a continuation from the book, Clouds of War. Samuel is older now, and the Revolutionary War is being fought. Samuel’s farm is close to Valley Forge.
Clouds of War follows the story of the famous book, The Martyrs Mirror. A few men that lived at the Ephrata Cloister had painstakingly translated The Martyrs Mirror from Dutch into German, a language that was more commonly used.
Sometimes it can be hard to imagine what life was like "back then." Sometimes, with the help of a talented author, the imagining can be quite simple. "Early Thunder" makes it simple.
