A Cry from Egypt
A Cry from Egypt
Author: Hope Auer
5&6th
Travel back in time to a time when the people of Israel were slaves in Egypt. Jarah and her family live in Egypt and serve wealthy Egyptian families. Jarah works so hard and still, the work is not enough to satisfy the overseers. Jarah’s mother struggles with distrust in the One True God. The last straw it seems is Jarah’s friend Ada might be forced into a marriage with an Egyptian man. Jarah knows that her older brother loves Ada and she wants to trust God to work out the situation. Will Jarah’s faith be enough? Will deliverance come in time to save Jarah along with her family and friends?
This is a wonderful book. It’s full of creativity and imagination and brings to life a story from the Bible. However as with most things, there is a slight downside, the plot does not always flow well, and minor grammatical errors. I would hesitate to read it as a read-aloud due to the flow of the sentence structure.
