"Mimosa" is written in prose form, but reads like free verse poetry. Amy Carmichael has done a beautiful job of presenting the story of a child who hears a few minutes worth of information about God and lives a life of faith based on just that. Courage and perseverance mark Mimosa's life, as resilience marks the life of the mimosa plant. The story is simple, the writing unique. Seventh and eighth graders can enjoy this book, as well as possibly more advanced readers in fifth and sixth.
