Though simply and tactfully written, "Kids of Kabul" tackles some really tough reality faced by the children of Afghanistan. Each chapter is the biography of a child who has lived the harsh life that is normal in Kabul. While it is carefully written about children, it tackles hard topics that could overwhelm a sheltered child. As a result, this book is recommended for high school students or mature seventh and eighth graders who can freely discuss the content with their parents.
